FAQs

Why should I participate ?

Living and learning communities support and enhance students’ academic, personal and social development and success. The Well is a great place to plug into a supportive network of students, staff, and faculty who are interested in physical and mental health, nutrition, and overall personal well-being regardless of your major or career goals! All you need is a passionate commitment to health and wellness and a respect for the multiple ways in which an individual and a community can achieve that!

Who is eligible ?

Any full-time upperclassman (sophomore, junior, senior) who is eligible to live on West Campus, regarless of SLG affiliation, may apply to live at the Well. If you are a member of a SLG you will have to change your status to "Friend of House" for that group during your residence at The Well.

Where do students live ?

All students live in House 4 of the Wannamker Dorm building. The house accomodates 49 beds in a hall style layout with double rooms. Because living in community is a primary focus of The Well, single bed spaced is limited and anyone who may need that accomodation should contact the Residence Coordinator personally.

Can I choose my roommate ?

Yes. All students who apply are eligible to apply with a preferred roommate. However, both persons in the roommate pair must complete the application, agree to the "Student Wellness Community Agreement" and the "Substance-Free Living Agreement."

When can I apply ?

The electronic application to live at The Well opens January 1 each year and closes on January 31.

How does selection work ?

Application review and selection is coordinated by the Residence Coordintor and Campus Dean. Students are notified of their acceptance no later than February 15. After February 15 students will be accepted on a rolling basis until March when the general Housing Assignments process closes. Late applications will be considered after February 15.

How can I learn more ?

It is strongly encouraged to attend open events throughout the year as they are advertised! An open house is also held at the Well during the first two weeks of the Spring semester. Additionally, information sessions are held in each of the four neighborhoods on East Campuus during the first two weeks of the Sping semester. All interested students are invited to attend to learn more, meet the Residence Coordinator, Resident Assistant and current House Council representatives, and ask questions.
